Getting started can feel overwhelming, but sometimes it's about finding the right person, the right tools and the overall approach to working with mental health that feels right for you.
I focus on your needs, your individual journey and hope that over time you unlock a deeper understanding of not only what helps you heal trauma while in sessions, but also find lasting balance and harmony in your day-to-day life.
Counselling is not Life Coaching
As a counsellor, it's not my job to give advice, nor is it to "have all the answers" to your problems. I'm not the expert, and I promise I won't persuade you to believe I am. But I will gently encourage you to learn about your mind and body every session as a compassionate guide. Together, we will gradually explore your past, restoring structure in the present, finding tools or resources, and creating a safe space to process even the most difficult emotions with steadiness and patience.
Counselling is not "Life Coaching", but they can feel similar. If you are being supported by a professional Counsellor with adequate training, continued supervision, overseen by an ethics board and with a commitment to their professional role, this overshadows the training of a life coach by many years.
Life Coaching offers its unique benefits if you hire a qualified and experienced professional. But regardless of their grandiose claims, marketing strategies, or fancy courses, a coach is not a therapist and lacks competency in a wide range of therapeutic skills.
